Speaker Spotlight: Sara Fennah
Please recommend one ESPC22 Session from the schedule https://www.sharepointeurope.com/conference/schedule/
There are many great sessions but I’ve managed to build myself a schedule which avoids more than two clashes. I am focusing on Viva and Syntex for my picks.
My top pick is the H – Microsoft Viva and Syntex Workshop but I’m also looking forward to T13 – Introducing Microsoft Syntex – Content AI for the Microsoft Cloud
Can you briefly discuss a project you are most proud of?
As a trainer, my mission is to help people make the most of the technology they have. I worked with a local theater company to support their roll out of Microsoft 365 in 2018 & 2019. The lady who ran their scheduling and staffing worked with a single Excel spreadsheet and was terrified of the change. As she held a critical role to that organisation I spent a lot of time working 1:1 with her and she is now the leading champion for Microsoft 365 in the company and in regular contact with me to test new ideas to improve the way they do things. From terrified IT user to Microsoft 365 champion, just shows what you can do with empowering users with knowledge.
What is your favourite film?
Little Women from 1949. Watching the film at Christmas time with my Mum is one of my favourite childhood Christmas memories.
What is the best career or life advice you have received to date?
Believe in yourself and go for it
Have you any tips on receiving a MVP status?
Do not see the MVP ‘Award’ as a badge to collect, but instead view it as a commitment to the community. Putting yourself forward to speak, writing blogs, mentoring people etc are all fantastic things to do and it is amazing to receive recognition for all you do along those lines, especially when it comes in the form of becoming an MVP.
But it doesn’t stop there, you have to be willing and able to give your time, energy and enthusiasm on an ongoing basis which takes commitment. Having that mindset helps you to undertake activities which can lead to being recognised, nominated and awarded.
