Interesting Updates 4th April 24 – M365 Roadmap

There were too many items on the roadmap which caught my eye today for a social media post, so it became a blog.

Teams

3 updates for Microsoft Teams. 1st, a new addition. Updated the teams & channels onboarding flow, is looking to simplify getting new users onboarded into the Team, especially teams with a large number of channels (due from May 2024).

2nd, another new addition to the roadmap. Apps in group chats which include external users is an interesting one. This update is also due to start rolling out in May 2024.

This last one is a status change now being fully available. Many admins will be happy to able to export these reports.

Both reports can be found under Reports & Analytics > Usage Reports in the Teams Admin Center

Bookings

Added to the roadmap, users with Teams Premium will be able to set up SMS notifications for booking made through Microsoft Bookings.

Outlook

If you were wondering what happended to download to a lcoal folder in New Outlook, well the answer is it was rolled back with updated functionality due from May 2024.

Microsoft Stream

Microsoft Purview

Added to the roadmap on April 3rd is an update to Insidier Risk Management in Microsoft Purview which will be rolling out from June 2024. Improvements to the risk indicator of deleted files & folders, which will now include files moved to recycle bin as well as files deleted.
