Tomorrow is the big day

Here in Lewa and getting nervous. We’ve had our race briefing where the excellent security & safety features of the event were detailed along with the rules.

We are staying at the fabulous Lewa Safari Camp, as we did when David ran the marathon last year. They are doing a splendid job looking after us and have even given us the same guide, Festus, who is superb!

We’ve had the opportunity to visit a school and water project which is truly inspirational. Last year’s project visits are the reason I’m here this year.

As well as the project visits we’ve been meeting all the other international participants, amongst whom I have been very pleased to find several others planning to mainly walk the half marathon.

And of course the game drives are another highlight. We’ve been shooting lots of animal pictures. (Truly the only way to hunt wildlife is with a camera).

Here are a selection:

So now it’s an early night and early start. More news tomorrow.
